Scan and Upload

The Opticon scanner allows you to scan barcodes of products and put them into your shopping trolley on the website. From there you can adjust quantities and add any other products before placing an order.

The process involves connecting the Opticon scanner, via the provided cable, to the USB port on your computer and running the Parfetts application.

Initial Setup

1. Download and Install Application

The application is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP and up (7, 8 etc.)

Once downloaded double click the setup.exe to install. Accept any security alerts that may pop up.

2. Connect Opticon Scanner

Connect the scanner via USB to your computer. Windows will detect the device.

As above, accept any warnings and run the installer.

3. Restart Your Computer

Please restart your computer.

This initial setup is only required once. For future use follow the product upload instructions.

Occasionally there may be an application update available. The application will prompt you to update it on launch if this is the case.

Scanned Product Upload Instruction

1. Read Barcodes

Use the opticon scanner to read the barcodes of the products you want to order. Press the large button on the device and beam the light2 onto a barcode until you hear a beep.

2. Connect Opticon Scanner

Once you have scanned all the products you want to order connect the scanner to the USB port on your computer.

3. Launch the Parfetts Application

With the scanner connected and installed launch the Parfetts application, this can be found in your Start Menu under All Programs.

The application will detect the scanner and display the number of barcodes that have been scanned.

To send the products to the Parfetts website shopping trolley click Upload.

A browser window will open prompting you to login to your website account and select a branch (if applicable).

4. View Trolley on Website

Close the upload complete dialogue box, a browser window will open taking you to your trolley at online.parfetts.co.uk/trolley using your default web browser.

Available products will be in your shopping trolley where you can make any changes before submitting your order.

1: Do not beam the light from the barcode scanner into your eyes as this may cause irreparable vision damage.
